CPF1: Premium Connectivity, lifetime of ownership

Premium Connectivity (live traffic, satellite maps, streaming) included rather than as a monthly subscription; Tesla's record calls it “Lifetime of ownership”. Most cars ordered before Tesla began charging for it in July 2018 show it, and so do some later cars sold with it included, such as 2024 Cybertrucks.

What it means for a buyer

Worth having if it is still active. Tesla decides what carries over after a sale, so check it in the car.

How Tesla records connectivity

Every Tesla has Standard Connectivity for navigation and basic data. Premium Connectivity adds live traffic, satellite maps and streaming. Cars ordered before Tesla began charging for it in July 2018 came with it included, and most of them show CPF1, which Tesla's record calls “Lifetime of ownership”. Most later cars show CPF0, with Premium Connectivity as a subscription the new owner takes out, though CPF1 also appears on some sold with it included, such as 2024 Cybertrucks. It is a small line on a report, and Tesla decides whether it carries over after a sale.
